Role:

Dads Rock Academy is recruiting a sessional worker to manage our weekly tuition sessions, overseeing the smooth delivery of each instrument group, to ensure all tutors/volunteers and students attend. To motivate both tutors/volunteers and students to ensure they are getting the best from the tuition. To also provide administrative support, general assistance and social media input as needed for Dads Rock Academy’s activities. 


The role involves weekday evening work, as well as weekends with a requirement to be flexible in line with the business needs, there will be an expectation of working until 9pm during the week. 

Organisation profile: 

Dads Rock Academy is Edinburgh’s only rock tuition social enterprise, delivering weekly tuition to kids aged 7-16 and their mums/dads/grandparents.

Post – Dads Rock Academy Manager

Hours of work - 4 hours per week, flexible including evenings and weekends

Management - Responsible to the Board of Directors.

Rate of Pay - £1462, approx. £8.5 per hour

Purpose of Job:

Main Duties and Responsibilities: 

To manage tuition sessions, working with other tutors to deliver the service.  To work within the parameters of Dads Rock Academy agreed polices. Promoting the ethos and objectives of the organisation and the service it runs. 

Engage on a 1:1 and group basis with families, children and young people; preparing, facilitating and evaluating activities; dealing with queries, and sign posting on.  To share photos and content on our social media platforms.  

Build strong, positive relationships with local stakeholders, agencies and individuals. 

To provide administrative support for the running of the service, i.e. tracking attendance. 

Generate ideas for new events or fundraising actions, and work with the board of directors to deliver these. 

To provide ad-hoc general assistance as needed for Dads Rock Academy.

-         Relevant professional qualification e.g. Music Studies,   Community Education, Youth Work, or equivalent

-         Any training/qualifications relevant to working with Children and young people

 

EXPERIENCE


-         Worked directly with children and young people
-         Collaborated with other agencies and worked in a range   of settings

-         Experience in providing high quality training material and resources

 

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
